Still Going West
This Dutch band hails from Veendam,
and is well known for their strong vocals and harmonies. Apart from
performing their own songs they also perform songs from their hero's,
such as: America, The Beatles, Eagles, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young,
Cream Fleetwood Mac and REM. 'Still Going West' has in recent years become well known in the north of
the Netherlands, and is a welcome addition to many 'Sixties' and
'Seventies' festivals.
After a performance in 'Zalen Schaaf' in Leeuwarden, the group was
approached by the record company: 'Road Records', which resulted in the
recording of their debut album: 'Seven to Seven' in 1996.
This album was very well received and promoted by many local radio
stations to 'CD of the week'. Their second album (released in 2001) 'After the concert', shows the
band's improvement and the singer/songwriter talents of Gerry Wolthof. 'Still Going West' guaranties a nostalgic evening with wonderful ballads
as well as swinging dance songs.
In Short: Let's get Back to the Sixties and Seventies.
Hemmo Barla (guitar, vocals), Ad Antonisse (bass, vocals),
and drummer Bert
Stadman, Gerry Wolthof - (vocals, guitar, keyboard and harmonica)
