Neil Young Mirror Band.
Close
your eyes and when you hear his voice it's as if you are listening to
him.
Open your eyes, look towards the stage and you think it's really him:
Neil Young.
You keep thinking this until he starts to speak and you realize, its not
Neil Young but Gerry Wolthof from Veendam.
Wolthof has been working his way along the musical trail sinc1985.
In that year he was a finalist in Hennie Huisman's 'Sound mix show' on
Dutch television, where he finished at an honorable 3rd
place.
You can guess which song Wolthof sang. Of course it was 'Comes a time'
from Neil Young.
Wolthof starts performing more as the Dutch Neil Young and his shows are
a huge success.
Yet he wants something more: his own band with their own sound. Wolthof
starts to gather
musicians around himself and starts performing with diverse
bands.
With Still Going West he releases the CD's 'Seven to Seven' and 'After
the Concert'.
Both albums get great reviews and sell well.
Yet Wolthof can't forget his idol Neil
Young.
Logical, his voice and appearance remind every concert visitor of the
singer of the last century.
And so, more than fifteen years after his television debut as the Dutch
Neil Young, Wolthof is
back as Neil Young, and how!!!
Together with Hemmo Barla (guitar, vocals), Ad Antonisse (bass, vocals),
and drummer Bert
Stadman, Gerry Wolthof - (vocals, guitar, keyboard and harmonica) now
also performs beside Still Going West, as the..........NEIL YOUNG MIRROR BAND
NEIL YOUNG MIRROR BAND
A treat for the eyes and
ears.
Neil Young is back in
Holland.
And even if he does hail from Veendam.
That's a big compliment.
